HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JBL Energy Partners, an oil and natural gas exploration and production company, and its partners, today announced it has entered into a joint venture partnership with Terrace Energy, LLC in Fort Worth, Texas on one of its Woodbine, Texas prospects.

“We are very pleased to have entered into a joint venture with Terrace Energy, LLC for one of our Woodbine prospects”

Under the terms of the joint venture, Terrace Energy, LLC has acquired a 75% leasehold interest (working interest) in approximately 13,500 acres in one of JBL’s horizontal Woodbine prospects for cash consideration. JBL retains a 25% non-operating interest in the play, and will be carried by Terrace Energy, LLC on the first two wells drilled.

The first horizontal well is tentatively scheduled for Q3 2012.

"We are very pleased to have entered into a joint venture with Terrace Energy, LLC for one of our Woodbine prospects,” said Jason Lane, CEO, JBL Energy Partners. “We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship, and to spudding the first well early in Q3, 2012.”

Over recent years, the Woodbine oil play this area has begun to see much activity in the drilling of Horizontal Woodbine Sandstone wells. Estimated ultimate recoveries documented by operators in the Horizontal Woodbine Sandstone range from 300,000 to 500,000 barrels of oil. Several companies are active in the area including but not limited to Apache, Encana, Chesapeake, EOG, Samson, Petromax, Richland Resources and Allied Operating.

Lane continued, “JBL Energy Partners’ high-return track record over the past ten years is a direct result of our tenured executive team’s experience, landowner relations, singular geographic focus and use of local talent – all fundamental drivers of our business strategy that we will continue to build on in the months and years to come.”
