The term buyout usually refers to one company (e.g., a larger company), acquiring another (usually smaller) company.

In the case of USRM there could be interest from larger pharma companies where their pipeline may not be sufficient or due to some of their patents expiring. It is often better to buy a smaller, more specialized company to then leverage their expertise quickly without having to re-invent the wheel.

If there were concrete interest demonstrated by a larger company, this could cause the price of USRM to rise substantially, whether they are ultimately acquired or not. One way to demonstrate interest is by buying large blocks of the stock.

This is the context of the term "buyout".
