Cartman, you are correct, most grants are for less than $1M. In all fairness though, the grant process has 3 phases. Each phase has awards made. Only phase 3 is the commercialization phase, hence the largest award potential. Unless you know which phase the award is for it isn't really accurate to lump them all together. I hope this isn't making a stupid point. The first two phases are paperwork, computer modeling, test plants, etc. The first two phases don't need as much funding. The grant process also has 11 steps imbedded in the 3 phases. Step 7 is when the award (money) is given. Twain, " it is easier to stay out than to get out."
