Charley......

Suffering from Bambi Syndrome I see. smile

This chick hunts, and eats, whitetail deer. I even process my kills - gut, clean, soak, wrap, freeze - then cook it in many different ways.

Do you know what natural predators prey on deer? Cougars. And when was the last time you saw one? That's right, probably never. Without harvesting, by responsible hunters, the deer population remains unchecked. And, and unchecked deer population is not only a nuisance, it is dangerous to humans. From the diseased tick on its hide, to the frightened buck that runs into the path of many a car causing serious accidents, the deer, left to its own devices, would soon become a very hot topic indeed.

You say there's no "sport" in hunting non-carnivores. Okay, but can you eat a lion? I, like many (most) hunters I know, was taught to never kill something you aren't going to eat. It is a sport, just as fishing is a sport. It's just not the kind of sport you engage in.
