Wrong. Talk to an accountant or look it up. Preferred gives you entitlement to dividend payments before earnings are determined by the common issued shares. Look up earnings per share w common and preferred shares. Share price is based on PE ratios based of profits divided by ONLY the current issued common shares. This excludes the preferred and the preferred has controlling interest, debt protection rights to get paid first, etc etc.
