Encapsulation is an explanation used by "mining" companies like ECPN to explain why the precious metals in their ores cannot be detected using standard assay method. And cannot be recovered using standard smelting methods.

Encapsulation is supposedly a coating on micron sized particles of precious metals that defies the fire assay or smelting process. Usually it is claimed to be a silica coating, but in the case of ECPN, georgie was implying that ECPN is claiming some kind of iron coating. I haven't read their technical explanations of why fire assay doesn't work, or standard smelting procedures doesn't work, but it is all BS of course. There is no ore that a standard fire assay cannot accurately be used on, to establish a grade. No matter how the particles of precious metals are supposedly "encapsulated".

There is no funky coating that would not be melted in the fire assay process. Same goes for smelting.
