I don't see anyone protesting/concerned. There are detectors everywhere on the light poles.

do you see the contradition? if they weren't concerned, they wouldn't have detectors on the light poles.

I worked for a company, many years ago, that labeled compounds with radio active materials for research, such as medical research. They also sold sources for x ray machines. There were radio active detectors everywhere. All air was sucked into the building and went out through filters that were monitored daily. I know, because I typed up the reports on the detector badges employees in the lab wore, the filters and other places. And at least once, a shipment of material was lost. I'm glad I worked there for only a year.

I know of a town north of SF that has BIG signs as you come into town that it's nuclear free.

Most likely reactors will be built near towns that are lower on the economic totem pole because they won't have the political clout to protest as strongly as elsewhere.
