$TURV Cucharas Reservoir Filling Up Investor Update 05/18/17

The Cucharas Dam is under a no-fill restriction due to our settlement with the State of Colorado. Consequently the spillways are wide open and the water coming down from the mountains should just flow right through.  Not this year.

The snowpack that feeds the Arkansas River Basin, which includes the Cucharas river, was at 155% of the long term average as of the end of March and we've had cold weather and substantial snowfall since then (its snowing in Denver today).

The picture above shows Two Rivers board member Keith Wiggins (far right), former board member and current water advisor John Stroh (middle) and Colorado State Representative Larry Liston (far left) standing on the reservoir side of the dam.

The video below, taken on May 16, shows the water flowing out of the spillway and the water that has collected behind the dam.  We estimate that there is approximately 8,000 acre feet of water behind the dam currently.  In the distance behind the reservoir you can see the Spanish Peaks which rise to over 13,000 feet in elevation. The Cucharas Dam is at 5,846 feet.

Two Rivers, through its subsidiary Water Redevelopment Company, intends to re-construct the Cucharas Dam.  The important take-away here is that with a snow pack like we had in Colorado this year, a fully re-built Cucharas Reservoir will fill up quickly and generate returns for our investors.
