FONAR Sells 55th Stand-Up MRI to Repeat Customer; Sales Increase as Advantages of the Stand-Up MRI are Recognized

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 2003--FONAR Corporation (NASDAQ-FONR), The MRI Specialist(tm), announced today the sale of its 55th FONAR Stand-Up(tm) MRI scanner, the Company's whole-body Upright(tm) imaging system. It is the third Stand-Up(tm) MRI purchased by an independent physician group located in the Mid-South.

Raymond Damadian, president and founder of FONAR, said, "We, of course, are very pleased with yet another sale.
