Buckle up. The return of the likes of SLC imo just shows that the pot is ready to boil over. May 15 is the date today. We get topline data in two trials in July (I'm still slightly foggy if OM topline is in July, but they certainly advertised a deeper reveal). IBD topline 100% in July based on releases. Prurisol interim data is in 3Q17--which I am watching extremely closely as that interim data is what will have every executive in the Pharma space tuned in. If you are a pharma who owns a biologic and along comes an oral that is better than your biologic or gets close to it--well, that just changed your entire business model and financials. If you are a company that makes the only oral for psoriasis and along comes one that is better than yours, (and you rely on that revenue increasingly as lack of diversification and patent expiries hit you), then you pay attention. If you are a patient in desperate need for an effective safe and easy to take medication--then you pay attention. if you are savvy investor wanting to get in the door early--really really really early--like private i-banker round early prices---then you are tuned in.
the amusing thing is that if you are buying at these levels now--the opportunity exists to make 10% a week as it ticks up to topline reveals.
not easy to make those kind of gains in a year, let alone weekly.
The tide has changed. like it or not depending on which side of the fence you are on--short or long--this puppy is headed to acquisition in my opinion.
My bet is CTIX is no longer a company by sometime in 2018 because it has been acquired. While on the guessing game, i'm guessing it's taken out for $6B.
