Yup, have worked in IT myself since 1996. There's no way though a company with a competent IT organization would have ports for something like SMB v.1 open between their corporate desktop environment and their actual production environment. Maybe to development/QA environments if needed (Linux/UNIX server running Samba), but production network would definitely no have ports like this open to lower environments.
