Haven't seen one motorcycle taxi in Xi'an either. I saw a total of about a half dozen tuk tuks in Beijing. They are so small two passengers would both have to be under 5'4 and 120lbs to fit. They make a mini look like a 750Li.

Motorcycle taxis are not mainstream transport in China. I'll be in Shanghai tomorrow and I'm not expecting any different.
