I can see it both ways, but if you add during a period of relative flat pricing, or in a dip, you own a lot more when it takes off. That's more money in the bank at the end of the journey.
I also didn't say anything about not wanting growth as I add; I actually specifically mention slow and steady growth being a positive for someone who's still adding to their position, versus a sudden climb.
