Your rationale in comparison of Sucanon and Metformin is reasonable given current limited information. I would also point out that in preclinical testing summarized at sucanonhealth.com, Sucanon outperformed biguanides (which include Metformin) and sulfonylureas (Glyburide among others) in lab rat muscle, Sucanon also outperformed Glyburide in a 370 subject 6 month double blinded placebo controlled study. Presumably the results of the 12 week study conducted in Mexico City will be consistent with the above and other previous Sucanon studies.
