Well a lot of folks would agree he helped make it entertaining and if you followed him close enough, you probably came close to going to jail….gg
However, Elgindy hardly "made" SI. A lot of folks on SI worked at sharing what they had learned. And some had no need to profit from the influence they acquired posting on SI. Although quiet a few did try to profit from the notoriety acquired on SI, including Elgindy. Some are still around pretending to still be worth a subscription.
The only person I can think of off hand that actually constructed (offered) something of real value was Chip Anderson and he did that without achieving “guru” status on Silicon Investor.
