Here's an interesting development:

This could well reduce substantialy our dependence on foreign oil, reduce oil prices, reduce the influence of Iran in the Middle East, and reduce the economic potential for the Russians. Russia would be wise to participate more in Western projects, and invite Western companies too be more involved in their exploration. Oil will potentially also be less of a factor in US foreign policy decisions, and more of a factor for Europe (siding more with the US).

And, if oil prices drop substantially, Canada will be less likely to enhance its tar sands technology.

Peak Oil? I don't think so!
