Your taxes from your paycheck are in fact voluntary, you filled out a W-9, right? Further, just set-up higher deductions and nothing will be taken out. Self employed people voluntarily send-in and pay taxes. Sure threat of prison if we do not, yet this is a separate matter.

One can disenroll from Medicare and no longer pay the Medicare Part B premium of $110 per month. Yet $110 is pretty cheap as a cost share, as the insurance policy has much greater value. Medicare Part A is earned and has no premium cost. Medicare and SS are insurance policies. Try a search engine. FICA.

Taking care of the poor is a good social idea, and is a minimal cost short term and long term. Including the poorly uneducated who lack humility to know when they don't know enough.
