I'd say Intel blew it,with people losing jobs and unemployment keeping the economy down I'd say an expensive notebook is not what the people need right now

I would not say intel blew it, their notebook sales are growing at a much better clip then desktop. It doesn't matter what you or I think buissness and consumers are voting with their pocket books and it seems they can't get enough of Centrino, I must admit even I am amazed by the power of the Intel brand when it comes to Centrino. Maybe Intel just got lucky and had the right product at the right time durring the early part of an economic recovery. Unemployment is what 6.2% in the U.S. , most Canandians and Europeans can't even remeber what 6.2% unemployment is like.
