I have never had any problem with my Fidelity cash account that I've had since the 1980's. I can sell a pink stock and immediately place a buy order and purchase another pink stock with the funds I just received from the sell. Oh yes , commission is now $4.95.

BTW these transactions must be performed as limit orders which can be a hassle at times.
