Love the new presentation and the news that the railroad is proceeding nicely through in Angola. plus power news in the congo and SA very nice. Delighted too that a couple years ago, Angola kicked the cult of islam out of their country. for obvious reasons, but also because western investors and markets simply do not like investing in companies that are muslim. Angola like the congo primarily christian, and maybe we here at ivanhoe have hit the sweet spot, as each country and africa slowly begins to blossum into the international community. We shall see. I think the chinese are a tremendously positive force for Ivanhoe investors, nobody gonna grab what they own, or remotely consider it. They could drop 30,000 soldiers in tomorrow and this would be a drop in the bucket for them, plus, if you know anything about militarys, they always want a little practice. Always, so they would welcome any opportunity. The chinese are, as Edward Gibbon, mega genius described the romans, a "rapacious" people, and smart, very smart from our perspective, an ideal partner. I had thought BRICS would lead the world in this century, and I still do, but Africa has such potential. I am aware of two terrific companies in Turkey, two primarily gold miners, and they have good stuff, but they are being messed with and western investors simply will not put their money there, regardless of the quality of the assets. A muslim country is the primary reason, which only makes sense if you believe in the long term wealth building efforts of capitalism and freedom, with all its many faults. Of course, I think gold will struggle for several years, along with Biotech as well. My experience is that gold struggles when there is confidence in western governments, and the market believes in Trump, there is no question about it, and gold is a bet against governments. I also think money tends to leave biotech at the beginning of an industrial bull market. But looking at any biotech index since biotech really started, the early nineties, and their main index simply pounds the gold index, and surpasses easily the Dow...so you never know. I may be completely wrong and probably am......and that is all for the news, lol
