There are a few steps to this thought process -
A) one of the complaints is their products are too expensive for mass acceptance
B) so the company has repeatedly publicly spoke about an intent to lower prices as their production costs decrease (and has done this multiple times). This is to help gain wide spread acceptance
So if they are lowering their prices there are 2 ways to do it
1) just lower the prices, have no one really notice because that is "just the price" and hope over time more people that see the website, feel they can afford a purchase and make one
or
2) you know you are ready to lower prices anyway, but instead announce it as an "act now discount" and lock in the sales the moment the potential buyer sees the promotion.
Now also realize - these growing revenues they are reporting are in the face of a lower price per unit. So the user base is growing even faster than the financials reflect.
