Is it possible to be short in a stock at the record date when a stock dividend will be handed out?

I mean, whoever buys (or lend) the share from the short seller probably don't know that it's a short stock and wont be entitled to the dividend, the short seller will be entitled dividend. And in SIAF case, it might not be practically possible to trade that stock dividend, so the short seller can't give that dividend stock to the guy who he "lend" the shares to.
