As long as I have watched HYSR, they have only had one or two PIs (Principal Investigators) and they were in Universities somewhere. The work done is by Grad and Undergrad students of that one Professor. Solar nano-particles w/ costing is a NEW and difficult thing. As I have explained before on this forum, the physics of these solar cell particles is exceptionally complex. This research is not the PI's full time job. He/she has more Grad students, classes to teach, etc. To have such a small company effort done in such a way is appalling to me. I have never thought that the HYSR research effort, done in that way, could be successful. I also do NOT think that HYSR has anyone in house other than Tim and he is NOT a technical person. So, for me, it has not only been very small expenditures on research and poor research funding but done in Universities and nothing in-house. To me that's weird. I think this is a world class problem done with Grad students. Thus, it has not been managed well either. But the CEO has indeed made a good salary! All that is not a good mix.
