Project Description
MagMinerals Potasses Congo (MagMinerals), a subsidiary of MagIndustries Corp, will develop the Mengo Potash Plant Development project in the Mengo, Kouilou, Republic of Congo.
The project involves the construction of a potash production facility in the Mengo, near the port city of Pointe-Noire. It also includes other related infrastructure like construction of new access routes and installation of machinery.
The project features construction of 1.2 million tons per year capacity potash mine and processing plant. The project will be constructed in two phases of 600,000 tons per year each.
The plant is designed to produce granular K60 agricultural grade potash fertilizers using potassium rich brines from the Kouilou salt deposits.
The contract is for the full design, engineering services and procurement assistance associated with the construction of the Mengo Project, including brine extraction, transfer, processing plant, waste brine transmission, brine effluent handling, thermal power station, offices and housing, public utility interfaces, auxiliary engineering and the external transportation, external engineering work and water supply and pumping.
