emit MEETING WITH ROBERT PUTNAM TUES 6/19 --as you know ,I met with RP at e-Digital's offices today .These were his replies to your questions :
1)your ?--did e-Digital provide essential technical support or components to DataPlay in the development of it's "Gate" technology for the content key ? RPs reply is NO
2) Do you forsee e-Digital & Packet Video being indirectly linked through the growing list of PV partners.Could our video applications involve Packet Video? RP replied big players have provided funding --they are a local neighbor & e-Digital will see where it goes.
3)Would it be fair to say it is likely that TI is or is planning to offer microOS/CAM as an add on Software Development kit(SDK) for their DSP chips to any party that may be trying to use their chips for audio/video applications ? RP replied embedding e-Digital into silicon solutions with an eye toward optimizing portable products .
There was 5 share holders present & he gave us 1hr & 15 minutes of showing us the facility ( not the secret areas ) & the question & answer period.Here are the points which I wrote down :
1) between Jan & may they increased the staff (mostly soft ware engineers ) from 30 to 40
2)Jim Collier (COO) has responsibilities which include delivering a extra income stream for added value delivered to OEMs;such as over seeing the production in their plants & pushing the products thru the piplines much faster to the retail markets .
3) outsourcing is a NEW major item of revenue to e-Digital & JC is in charge of this with the OEMs .e-Digital has on staff 2 project managers directly responsible to JC ,to work in the out sourcing from OEMS to e-Digital.These people are laison between e-Digital & the OEMs
4)e-Digital is working on many new & in RPs word "exciting" platforms .However,Yes e-Digital is focusing on getting royalties to the bottom line .So expect the first solid PR to hit the business wires very soon .
5)Again Robert emphasized that "If" e-Digital spilled or leaked NDA info to the share holders ,they & us could kiss the future & pps good buy .He stated that e-Digital is working to accomplish "A" Global Standard & NOT "The" Global standard .Because of that position e-Digital is able to work with many OEMs with e-Digital technology & added value ,even though these OEMs will compete with each other in the same markets.
6)RP stated that htere will never be a reverse split of stock .He added that any additional finacing would come from the OEMS investing in e-Digital.However,at this time ,e-Digital has sufficent cash flow for 10-12 months even without monies coming in .But that is not the case .They get non return engineering fees ,royalties from Lanier ,soon royalties from JBs & when content is released by the record labels e- Digital is very well positioned to move in with the MP2000 .And don't forget the added value cash that JC & team will deliver to the bottom line .
7) regarding the SHM --the November 2001 date will be determined in September .
8) Thus ,regarding the SHM/Golf Tournament .I can post complete details when I get the SHM date .RP said that e-Digital would supply e-Digital Gear such as jackets & shirts which we can use toward our golf & door prize gifts .Some of these will be raffled off as door prizes at the cocktail party & the rest for golf prizes along with golf equipment .
9) the burn rate is still 300K per month .They watch the cash flows very closely .
10) RP said 70% of his time is spent working at e-Digital & 30% of his time is working at ATC ( EDIGs--sister company)
In general I read Robert coming forward in a very positive % sincere manner .YES he knows the share holders are jittery & have less patience .He also knows that there are fewer share holders than last year because of the pps ,"Cause & Effect".Still I saw & sense that e-Digital will come out on top as a serious winner as this disruptive technology takes off.IT is not a matter of when ,it will happen .It is happening .I bought more shares today.
