I don't experience that issue at all -- haven't had any slow downs for 4-6 months now, on iHub or elsewhere -- ever since I started using the Opera browser with its built-in ad-blocker. I still have IE, Chrome and Firefox but rarely use them anymore.

Win 7 home O/S, SSD, i5 Ivory bridge. I run the free version of CCleaner once -or twice a week but really don't know if that helps or not.
I also run System Configuration Utility (msconfig) in Selective Startup with most non-Microsoft stuff unchecked and alot of stuff disabled or turned to manual via Services (Local).
I've run this way for years and all my printers and things still work without having them constantly running in the back-ground.
