Owning marani stock creates an immediate conflict of interest that tends to bias that parties opinion of the company to the positive.
Conversely:
No financial interest in marani stock - in other words nothing to gain nothing to lose regardless of price tends to not bias the parties opinion of the company one way or another.

To think otherwise is to not think clearly, imo.
