I grew up in the Permian Basin- I am about 75 miles south of it now but I was in Midland this weekend.Drilling is picking up there but slowly. It is a huge field and I worked the patch for along time but once all my grand children got here my time became more valuable. I make more now than I ever did in the oil patch and I am off all holidays weekends - 11-12 days at Christmas so I do not miss it. However it effects many facets of the economy out here and I would like to see oil get around 75bbl and stay there but for some reason the speculators wreak havoc on trying to have stable oil prices.XCO has some choices leases that are much better than the shale plays in cost vs production.XCO is not going any where and has done a lot of cutting since oil fell out of the sky -I see them coming back strong again one day, it's just when. I took a position here as a long hold as I knew it would take some time.
