You're not wrong - in fact you're right on - business deals at a sophisticated level are done at the Officer and Director level, Chairmen, Presidents, SVP's, and based on established relationships, not just contacts or looking up a name on a website and cold-calling. Who do you know, whose door can you open, who trusts you? Without those high level connections, you can have the best widget in the world, but it's not going to get appropriate recognition because the big boys can't hear or see you. Success at this level needs leadership from within, a sponsor, a mentor. Anything else may be nothing more than wishful thinking. Here's hoping bill's relationship with Boots/Walgreens in the UK has crossed the Atlantic. As for Big Pharma, I would be amazed if they are not working all channels hard.
