Coyah: the project of the governance of resources allocated to the Health sector, launched in the prefecture

Coyah, April 11 (AGP) - The project devoted to the governance of resources allocated to the health sector in the prefectures of Coyah and Forécariah was launched last weekend in the prefecture of Coyah, AGP on site.


Funded by the European Union (EU) under the Civil Society Support Program (PASOC), this project concerns ten (10) communities of these two prefectures for a period of 10 months, with the general objective of Improve the governance of resources, strengthen the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and define the implementation of sectoral public policies for development.


It will therefore be a matter of informing and sensitizing 90% of the populations of Coyah and Forécariah on the functioning of a health structure before the end of the project.

Priority activities include the carrying out of a diagnostic and performance evaluation of the health sector, the organization of prefectural workshops and the sharing of results, the counting of the management committees of the Health Centers (HCs) and Hospitals Health (PS), capacity building of members, support for the establishment of prefectoral committees for budgetary monitoring of the health sector.


According to the project coordinator, Dr Saïdouba Bangoura, it is also about building the capacity of CSOs on the development, analysis of budgetary follow-up and citizen control.


The project is being carried out by the consortium Association for Rural Development (ADR) of Forécariah and Union for the Community Development of Coyah (UDC).
