es1 it seems you are correct. i talked to my guy and he said that the tantalum could be recoverable but it would be marginal affair compared to the Nb.

And, he said that since Nb is the principal mineral (there are lots more of it than the Ta-like 7 times as much)it would require extra energy and a second pass at the ore in refining which would be costly

doesn't mean that sometime in the future there could be some Ta recovery but it is a sideshow compared to the Nb values
