Taping wouldn't do any good, neither would replacing the board, if there is still movement!
Have someone walk around on that area while you watch from below. If you see even the slightest movement of the floor you will need to deal with that to prevent the same from happening again.
If you get that taken care of then you could use the cracked backer board again I think.
There can be no movement in the floor what so ever.
