Very few investors understand that Buffett's enormous success is mostly due to his use of virtually free leverage from his many insurance holdings. BRK gets money cheaper than the US Treasury!!! Plus he doesn't have to worry about his margin debt being called in bad markets. You can (and should) copy much about Buffett but you can't copy that cheap leverage unless you go into the insurance business.
