"You don't see Buffett buying this crap." Checked and Buffett's stocks currently all pay under 4.5%: GM, Verizon and ATT pay the most.

The World's Greatest Investor [by far] knows that reaching for yield stunts long term performance. Most Buffett stocks yield about 1% to 3% which is probably the sweet spot for best overall performance. (div + growth)

His largest holding, Kraft, yields 2.6%. His 2nd largest, Wells Fargo, yields 2.8%.
