Spoke with the owner of the shop. Nice guy. He likes the business but says the competition is fierce and the price is low (around $28-30 bucks here for the labor and $8 bucks and change for the cert.
He makes a little more on the older cars that have to have their tires spun - but as time marches on fewer and fewer cars need that service.
I have a friend who is a fencing contractor. He told me that when he got behind on his taxes some guys from the state showed up one morning and put a padlock on his door and they forced him to catch up before he could operate business as usual.
