Dependson how the transaction tax is defined. In most cases I would expect that term to mean the total value of the transaction. If that is the case then 1/4 of 1% is an onerous tax burden.

If you trade 100 shares of a $50 stock, the value of the transaction is $5000 and the 1/4 of 1% is $12.50 tax. That is WAY out of reason.

I would much rather see a 5 cent fee for every order placed, canceled or not.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
