The fact that the stock hardly goes down has very little to do with short sellers, but more with the fact that the company manipulates uninformed retailer investors into the stock with suggestive news releases and a vast network of stock pumpers (very much like the Wolf of Wall Street). And if there are more retail investors that are willing to buy than insiders are able to sell, the stock will go up
