Imanjen13, the other half of that failed Alvarado deal was the importation of diesel from Brazil. Brazil was to have sent diesel in return. The deal initially came undone over the low price of the crude that Bolivia was exporting through the trading company. Apparently, YPFB's deal would have cost Bolivia tens of millions of dollars over the life of the contract.
