BigOtto - those reports are from 2006. A lot happened after that time. And plenty that drove Hanks/Canon Maple Energy PLC into the ground and got them delisted.

The more I read about Maple Energy PLC the more it sounds like they were running a share selling scheme there as well.
i.e. using a toxic funder like YA Global/Yorkville, hopping on the ethanol theme, claiming Maple Resources was buying out gas and oil assets for $47million that never happened and putting out press releases pumping a takeover that never happened to pump up the price.
Now they somehow saved the Maple Gas del Peru part of the delisted company and are using it as part of MMEX.
There was a note with Maple Gas in some of the filings. And I do believe they will try to merge/acquire it with MMEX. And I think that might have been the reason Katabi resigned from MMEX - so as not to appear as conflict of interest. Bad enough Hanks has his hands in both pots - but two of them? And Lemons is involved in numerous other ventures with Hanks as well. I believe on some financial things.

No wonder they left Peru? Probably liability issues over all those oil spills would be another reason. The Maple Gas del Peru is still there.

When that 8k was put out awhile back a few of the sleuths thought it smelled like the SEC was asking questions. They put out another 10Q after that to get their CURRENT pink status but somehow managed to miss the last one - which was only a third quarter Q and not even the 10K that would be audited that isn't due until end of July. Not why was that?
I had mentioned the other 10Q's were riddled with errors - rushing to get current no doubt. A number of people blew that off and claimed the SEC wouldn't care. I think they would. And that would be a dang good reason to stop filing the error riddled filings.

Sometimes it just comes down to one's character that makes you think you cant trust someone - things like this:

and hey maybe that is the reason he started doing business IN Peru in the first place. Maple Resources was started right about that time.
