A delegation of Chinese experts is staying from 4 to 12 November in Congo in order to remove the obstacles inherent in the feasibility of the Pointe-Noire economic zone project. This delegation expressed its support for this project dear to the Congolese government, on 7 November in Brazzaville.
"We are more confident about the feasibility of studying the Pointe-Noire economic zone. We have reviewed the problems related to the realization of this project, including taxation, the environment ... ", said the head of this delegation, Prof. Qu Jian.
Jean Jacques Bouya, the head of the mission of Chinese experts, spoke during an exchange with the Minister of Regional Development and the General Delegation for Major Projects and said that "the objective of our visit Is to resolve all these problems in order to facilitate investments in the Pointe-Noire economic zone. "
The delegation is made up of 18 Chinese experts, including the Chinese Development Institute, the China-Africa Development Fund, the business world and Chinese structures specializing in the construction of economic zones. It has already met in the capital with experts from 14 Congolese ministerial departments involved in the project.
After Brazzaville, the delegation of Chinese experts should go to Pointe-Noire where it will have exchanges with the prefectural and municipal authorities. This delegation will then visit the sites planned to house the economic zone and the mineral port of Pointe-Noire.
Speaking during the exchange, Minister Bouya welcomed the presence of these Chinese experts in the Congo. "I am pleased because you have already started working with the Congolese side on data collection for the finalization of the project," he said.
"Economic zones represent a major interest for Congo because the diversification of our economy goes hand in hand with the reduction of poverty and improvement of the living environment. We reiterate here the availability of the Congolese party to work and accompany you in the implementation of this project, "he added.
The economic zone and the mineral port of Pointe-Noire will be connected to the national railway network as well as the national road n ° 1 serving the other departments of the country.
