1)He has been EXTREMELY complimentary to ISRG and speaks of how well it works for COMPLEX surgery.
2) In the conference call he stated that he does not see SPORT as a direct competitor to DaVinci, rather a system that will serve an untapped market. A market that DaVinci XI and SI have a barrier to penetrate.
I find him saying Titan doesn't see SPORT as a DIRECT competitor to DaVinci as a very interesting statement IMO. First time I've heard that from Titan.
3) McNally states that SPORT will focus on GYN and General surgery as well as cases like partial nephrectomy in urology. These are areas underserved by DaVinci.
Wouldn't ISRG want to tap the market that their current platforms cannot? I say of course they would.
We know that ISRG has not had a full scale commercial launch of the SI.
WHY?
The GRI and the Nicholson Center are world class DaVinci training centers
I'm wondering if Patel isn't evaluating
SPORT for ISRG.
Who better to do that than Patel, the worlds most experienced DaVinci surgeon...?
