RIM can't have Telcordia test a chip or a "family of products" when they don't exist. They claim they have a beta (FPGA) product. The 1st PR made no mention of any hardware. The second PR speaks of chips, semiconductors and families of products... hmmm... and they came from where? Are we to believe RIM went from a beta product to a finished chip without fanfare and without spending any money to do it? And who made their chips for them? Did they bake them in their personal EZ-Bake Oven with a 60 watt bulb in Brad's kitchen? Or RIM's company break room?
Do you think if RIM actually had a chip in hand they would not bang every drum from here to China to let the world know they have a ready to sell finished ASIC?
They can't even contain themselves when they hire a controller. Come on.
