I don't think it will be totally canceled, but the CEO might soften the blow and reduce the R/S to 2:1. The share price would reach a new plateau almost immediately, which would be higher than just double the pre-split price. It would still accomplish what the BOD set out to do in connection with the conversion, and shareholders would be happy, too.
