The only way that Vista delay will be a good thing is if the delay is announced officially for a long time (i.e., six months or more), so that computer OEMs will go ahead and commit to building substantial numbers of computers with the XP OS, which may then lead to a pre-Vista bundle. With nothing more than short extensions announced by Microsoft, OEMs will continue their holding patter.
