I work in a lot of homes of multi millionaires. I call them or text them when I get to their place and they can have the door open from their phone at work.

As far as the person you need to keep track of use a timer for a motion detector to start working after a certain time so you can sleep well not having to worry about them walking away. So sad to see the news about an elderly person walking out the door sometimes they found in time others they aren't.

Make sure your contractor isn't a CONtractor.

Educate yourself as much as you can about every phase of the building process. Let him know you will be checking the framing with a straight edge then do it.

Check how every door lines up. Kitchen cabinet doors everything. It just blows me away what so called craftsmanship has come to in this country. Most people in the industry need to go find another job they SUCK!
