My son informed me, Ford doesn't sell trucks with standard transmissions any more, all automatics. It is for certain modern automatics are way better than years ago.

Down shifting is for 16 wheelers that have exhaust brakes. For a car that doesn't weigh anything in comparison brakes are cheap, try and don't warp the rotors. Old saying: use you engine for a break, break your engine.
