Regardless, at the moment "A White House spokeswoman said the new method's eligibility for funding could not yet be determined" - this pretty much means it's worth nothing right now. IF they're able to get the swing, then we're golden! If the church has its way, they'll be nowhere closer to solving anything.
Don't forget countries are already further advanced and using newer technologies (like Australia). If the US Govt pulls its head out of its butt and decides to allow funding for stem-cell research in the same vein as other countries, then this technique will immediately be outdated.
Also, this procedure of piggybacking on currently existing techniqes has not been 100% proven to ensure all embryos survive - even if 1 in 1000 fails, it won't get funding.
Don't fool yourself into thinking this is a "sure thing" - it's a gamble like almost everything else in pink sheets. The best we can do is hope they find a way and we'll make some cash!
