Koogie, I am of similar persuasion. I still don't like cars to have automatic transmissions. My POV if you can't figure out how to drive, stay at home or take the bus.

....just bought a new Honda FIT..........6 speed manual......I also simply enjoy it more although I can't say exactly why........ plus the auto trans cost more.....but it seems they got everything synched so well now that the auto actually gets about 5% better mileage.......so the rationalization I used to stick to manual was that many fewer people would be apt to steal it......not knowing how to drive one......color me cynical...... but it worked for me
