Based on the update of his linkedin page found by weasel, the theory is that Otto resigned from his CEO job at Malaysian Newsprint Industries (MNI) to work on NBTC. At least that is how his LinkedIn page makes it appear.

I was looking for an announcement or something in the news that he'd stepped down, for an independent verification. I did not find any news on that, but I did see this LinkedIn page for Pek Yee that says he's acting CEO.

It's not the official confirmation I was seeking but corroborates with Otto's page that a change has occurred at MNI.

I can't imagine Otto would make a move like this if things weren't progressing behind the scenes for us here.
