rfedeleo, what size monitor are you using?

remember that a standard televisions resolution is only about 640x480 and hdtv is just 1024x768. your monitor resolution is probably bigger than that (mine is 1280x1024). so, actually, you are trying to strech the picture larger than full-size, thus the degraded resolution. you also need to make sure you are watching the 1600kbps versions of the content, not the ~800kbps versions.
